In March 1979, Jacques Polge visited the apartment of Coco Chanel in rue Cambon for the first time. He was both stunned and amazed... In order to understand, he decided to pay tribute to her by creating his first feminine fragrance for CHANEL.

The Story of Coco -

Fashion in the 80s was all about appearances, and sometimes just a little showy. There was a renewed demand for more sensuous fragrances, inspired by the Far East. “Je ne fais pas des parfums à la mode, je fais des parfums d''époque” , “ I do not create fashionable fragrances, I create fragrances for an era” said Jacques Polge who, in order to put the finishing touches to his creation, set off for the Orient in search of inspiration. The fragrances of Oriental jasmine, Damask rose and Tonka Bean from Brazil mingled together on this wonderful voyage of discovery, from which he was to return with COCO, a warm and sensual Eau de Parfum, both captivating and voluptuous.
