Ongole is a city in Prakasam district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. The Municipality was formed in the year 1876 and was upgraded to Municipal Corporation on 25.01.2012. The city is a municipal corporation and the headquarters of Prakasam district. It is also the mandal headquarters of Ongole mandal in Ongole revenue division.
