Khardaha is a city and a municipality of North 24 Parganas district in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is near Kolkata and also a part of the area covered by Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA). Khardaha is located at 22.72°N 88.38°E. It has an average elevation of 15 m (49 ft). It has a railway station on the Sealdah-Ranaghat section, sandwiched between Sodepur and Sukchar (to the south) and Titagarh (to the north).Khardah Jute Mill was nationalised in 1980 and made a part of National Jute Manufactures Corporation Limited.
