About Ellenabad
Ellenabad, previously known as Kharial, is a historic town with a municipal committee in the Sirsa district of the state of Haryana, India. It is located to the north of the Ghaggar-Hakra River and serves as a port of entry into the state of Haryana from Rajasthan side.
Ellenabad was founded during the British colonization by sirsa commissioner j h oliver. The commissioner's wife, Madam Ellena, gave birth to a child in the town of Kharial. Oliver renamed the town Ellenabad as a gesture of appreciation for the accommodations provided during his wife's pregnancy.
