Dhandhuka is a city and a municipality in the Ahmedabad district in the state of Gujarat, India. Moreover, it is a part of the Bhal region. Dhandhuka is said to have been founded by, and to take its name from, Koli Dhana Mer,[1] or rather Mehd, the second of the thirteen sons of the Sonang Mehd[2] who in early times came into Gujarat from Sind. Having no son, Dhana Mehd is said to have given the town as a lasting gift to a party of 400 Brahman refugees from the wrath of Ebhal Walo.
