New Delhi is the capital of India and one of Delhi’s 11 districts. The foundation stone of the city was laid by Sir George V, Emperor of India, during the Delhi Durbar of 1911. The city has been designed by British architects and is a mixture of both modern and Victorian architecture. It is the largest metropolitan city of India area wise with 709 ft above sea level with extremes of climate. It’s major language is Hindi and is the largest commercial city of Northern India with a cosmopolitan culture.
