Injustice Gods Among Us (Ultimate Edition) is a single-player/ multiplayer PS3 fighting game that shows a world that is in peril due to the instability of a once righteous hero who has now become an oppressive tyrant.

Rated 16 by PEGI, the storyline of this high-octane game sees Superman resorting to murder due to the actions of the Joker. The Joker kills Lois Lane, Superman’s beloved, and their yet-to-be-born child along with all of Metropolis. Soon after, Superman starts to assert his power by compelling the world to forcefully restrict their actions, thereby depriving them of their free will. All who stand between the dictator and justice is a faction of superheroes who still hope they can quell the godlike threat.

With the use of a cinematic narrative, NetherRealm studios in collaboration with DC Comics stages the gameplay of this game in a two-dimensional plane though the characters and backgrounds are portrayed in a three-dimensional manner. You can use a variety of light, medium and heavy attacks and perform combos with them. Each character also has a unique character trait skill that showcases that hero/villains special ability. The locations where the battles are staged include the Watchtower, Fortress of Solitude, Batcave and many others. These are interactive environments and there's a stage shift if a character is hit against a certain spot in the surroundings. Through the course of combat, the characters charge their super meters by using combos or simply hitting the opponent. This game includes various modes such as Battle Mode, Training Mode, Versus Mode and S.T.A.R. Labs. With all of this and bodacious online multiplayer modes, Injustice: Gods Among Us is a treat to any comics fan or gamer.
