Personalised Gifts on Valentine’s Day : Kontai

"Oh! little loveliest lady mine, What shall I send for your valentine? Summer and flowers are far away; Gloomy old Winter is king to-day; Buds will not blow, and sun will not shine: What shall I do for a valentine? I ’ve searched the gardens all through and through For a bud to tell of my love so true; But buds are asleep, and blossoms are dead And the snow beats down on my poor little head." - Laura Elizabeth Richards

About Kontai

About

Contai is headquarters of Contai subdivision in Purba Medinipur district, West Bengal, India. There are three community development blocks in Contai. According to the geologists, the present geographical dimension of contai, has formally came into existence, with the great natural disaster of the third century AD (flood) which created Chilka lake out of the Chilka Bay. Kanthi, that is contai, means "Sand-bound reefs" or sand walls. The name Contai may thus be an English expression of the local jargon meaning "sand heaps".The Contai town lies within the Contai Block I.
